What does a website means?


A website is a collection of publicly accessible, interconnected Web pages that is identify by the same domain name and hosted on at least one web server. An individual, group, business, or organization can create and maintain a website for a variety of purposes.


How to view a website?



A browser is required to view a website (e.g., Internet Explorer, Edge, Safari, Firefox, or Chrome). For example, you are using a browser to read this web page. You can open a website in a browser by entering the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) in the address bar. For example, typing "https://www.yenteco.tech" will take you to the Yendi Tech Company home page. If you don't know the URL of the website you want to visit, you can find it on the Internet by using a search engine. For instance in the Google search engine you can type 'yenteco' or 'yendi tech company' and it will display the Yenteco home page link for you to visit. 

What do you do on a website?

Most websites require you to read the information on each web page. If there are any interesting hyperlinks, you can follow them by clicking or tapping on them to find out more information or perform a task. Many websites also allow you to listen to music, watch videos, shop, communicate, and do a variety of other things.

What are the types of websites?

There are billions of websites on the Internet today, and they can be classified into one of the following types of websites. Know that a website may fall into more than one of the following categories. A website, for example, can also be a forum, webmail, blog, or search engine.
Here we are just going to mention some few:

Archive website



A website that preserves a record of the contents of one or more other websites is known as an archive website. The best example of an archive website is the Internet Archive.

Blog (Weblog)



A blog is a website that is frequently maintained by a single person to retain a collection of entries that they find interesting. Another popular type of blogging website is a microblog, which restricts the number of characters that can be posted in each blog entry. Twitter is an example of a microblog social networking website.

E-commerce website



Any website that was built with the intent of selling online goods or services is described as an e-commerce (electronic commerce) website. An e-commerce website such as Amazon is an example. An e-commerce website can be further divided into the following subcategories: affiliate website, auction website, classified ads website, crowd funding website. Educational website



An educational website is any website that promotes learning. For example,  a school website, a library website, a homework assistance website,  or any other online learning resource.

Government website



A government website is a website designed by a department, local government, or state government to inform the public about government activity and services. A local government website may also be created to aid in tourism promotion. For example the Ghana Government Official Website is Ghana.Gov or the GRA (Ghana Revenue Authority) platform is gra.

Media sharing website




Any website that specializes in allowing visitors to share one or more types of media is referred to as a media sharing website. YouTube, for example, is a video-sharing website. SoundCloud is a music-sharing platform. Flickr is a photo-sharing website. DeviantArt is a website where people may share their artwork.

Personal website



A personal website is one that is produced by a person and contains information about their personal life, family, and life events, as well as a résumé. Many people nowadays are developing personal websites, such as blogs, or using social networking sites to keep personal information.

Personality website



A personality website is one that focuses on a certain person, such as an artist, celebrity, singer, author, or other figure. These websites are created by someone who is connected to the person, such as a publicist, an agency, or a fan.

Portal

A portal is a website or service that provides a variety of services, such as e-mail, games, quotations, search, news, and stock trading.
